Globalization has reared its ugly head in the recent trade rows
with China, the US and the EU. Many people have started to see
their jobs being outsourced to these countries with low labour
costs and lose their household income when that happens. This
article gives you three reasons why you should hedge your income
against job loss by starting your own internet business.
Make money while you sleep Internet business ventures allow you
to make money at all times of the day even when you are
sleeping. Imagine your website making sales for you once you
have done the right amounts of promotion online. This is what
you can expect to be doing when running an internet business.
Spending time working on your online promotions, logging into
your email to check whether you get new signups or sales and
then spending time working on your website. The best thing of
this arrangement is that you can do this at any time of the day
or week. Some people make money online on a weekly basis. One
internet marketing guru Michael Green for instance only spends
one day a week on his internet business and has made a lot of
money from it.
Followup with prospects online automatically Most offline
business ventures have entire marketing divisions which spend
time calling and following up with sales leads that go to them.
An internet business with the right amount of automation can
allow you to followup with your lead with enough information on
a timely basis until they are ready to make the decision to
purchase and you get your money in your pocket. So in other
words you make money without having to call anyone and reply to
emails whenever you are free to answer them. How’s that for
internet profits for you?
Perfect website tracking If you ask the majority of the direct
marketing community that uses offline marketing methods like
mail order catalogs and brochures, they can only guess where
their purchases are coming from if they do a large nationwide
promotion. On the internet once you place online advertising,
you can track exactly where your sales are coming from. This one
feature of internet business ventures is the ability to tell
exactly which ads are performing, at what time and what day just
by tracking your clickthroughs. So you place ads at the right
place and your profits will start coming in from your internet
business.
In conclusion, starting an internet business represents a
paradigm shift in ideas. You need to accept that making money
online is possible and not everything online is a scam. There
are powerful tools to help you save time online and make more
money on the internet. The only thing that you need now is to
have an open mind and start planning how you want to build your
internet business. Taking massive action can impact your future
so choose wisely.

Are you a gold person or a silver person?
Which color makes you look better? The sunny brilliance of
precious gold or the moon lit gleam of silver? Or both?
To answer that question, you have to take a very close look at
your coloring. The undertones in your skin would tell you what
are the colors that would make you look your very best. First
determine whether you have cool skin tones or warm skin tones.
Here is where you can fi
nd your best colors.
If you have warm skin tones, (yellow or golden undertones in
your skin) gold make you look your best. If you have cool skin
tones (blue undertones in your skin), silver would really bring
out your beauty. Some people look great in both gold and silver.
Usually, if you have a pinkish undertone in your skin, you would
look great in both. You might want to wear two toned jewelry
featuring both gold and silver.
Once you know whether you should go for gold or silver, start
wearing the color.
If you are a gold person, then collect gold jewelry. Go for the
works. Gold
bangles, gold
necklaces, gold
earrings, and rings. On top of that, go for gold sandals. A
pair of gold
leather sandals would look fabulous with dresses, skirts or
any outfit you might want to glam up. Get a gold
handbag for evenings out. A gold belt
is another accessory a golden girl should own. Use that to
change the look of a plain dress.
Sometimes, for a change, instead of wearing gold jewelry, try
carrying a gold bag and wearing gold shoes. For those moments
when you want to be a star, when you want to turn heads, for
those red carpet moments, make a grand entrance in a stunning gold gown.
If you are a silver person, then vamp up your wardrobe with
silver clothes and accessories. Silver is such an elegant metal,
you can easily get away with plenty of silver accessories. An
armful of silver
bangles, a pair of silver
sandals will certainly glam up a simple jeans and t-shirt
combo any time.
Likewise, si
lver necklaces and sil
ver earrings are a must for both day and night. silver
belts give you more options. While silver bags
are perfect for the evening.
Besides wearing silver or gold, surround yourself with your
color. Look fabulous at home with silver or gold home
accessories scattered around your room. Drive a silver or gold
car. in short, play up your strengths by surrounding yourself
with the color that flatters you best. That way, you would look
effortlessly, naturally good. All the time.

Lightning is great to watch, and makes a superb subject for
videos or photographs - from a distance. But it’s pretty scary
when it strikes nearby, and every year there are news reports of
lightning fatalities.
So what are your chances of being struck by lightning?
Fortunately they are pretty slim. But that’s probably what the
hundred or so people killed by lightning in an average year
probably thought.
So while you or I are most unlikely to be struck, the
consequences are so severe that it’s worthwhile taking every
precaution to make sure that we don’t end up a lightning
statistic.
A Few Lightning Facts
- Although lightning is known from volcanic eruptions and
in smoke from very large fires, it is always present in
thunderstorms, and thunderstorms can occur anywhere and at any
time of year. In the US they are most common in Florida and
nearby states, and overall are most frequent from April to July.
Lightning fatalities are most common in July, probably because
more people are out of doors at that time of year.
- Lightning is a very high voltage electrical discharge, with
its source in a thunder cloud. Most lightning moves between
clouds, or from cloud to air. The cloud to ground strikes are
rarer, but are the ones to worry about.
- Apart from floods, lightning causes more deaths than any
other severe weather event, including tornadoes and hurricanes.
Figures are not precise, but around 100 deaths occur in an
average year, while injuries are at least ten times that number.
- Lightning injuries are most common before and after the
storm has passed over - before and after the rain, winds and
hail have caused people to take shelter. Another reason is that
lightning bolts can travel distances of over 10 miles (16km)
from the cloud before hitting the ground. These “bolts from the
blue” may arrive before any thunder from the storm can be heard,
and even before the storm clouds have been noticed.
- Deaths and injuries occur most commonly to outdoor workers,
hikers, campers, and people involved in outdoor sport or
picnics, including sporting teams. Quite often, the victims have
delayed finding shelter until the last minute.
More information on lightning can be found at my website,
http://www.home-weather-stations-guide.com/lightning.html
Deaths and Injuries
A lightning strike is a very short lived, high voltage
electrical current, but has different effects to a home or
industrial electric shock. Most lightning fatalities are
instantaneous through failure of the heart or breathing, or
severe nervous damage.
Lightning deaths and injuries can occur in two ways - by a
direct strike, or indirectly from being within about 50 yards of
the strike. A short-lived electric current can travel through
damp soil, wet grass, water, and along fence wires, plumbing or
underground cables. This explains deaths or injuries to people
who are indoors but in contact with telephones, electrical
appliances or plumbing fixtures.
Unfortunately the effects of a non fatal lightning injury are
often severe and long lasting - often life changing. They can
include impaired mental ability and chronic pain.
But survival is better than the alternative, and immediate first
aid after a lightning strike is critical.
The first thing to remember is that the injured person is not
“live” - you won’t get a shock when you touch them.
Secondly, CPR - cardio pulmonary resuscitation - should always
be attempted if the victim has no pulse or is not breathing. A
lightning strike can stop either or both of the heart or
breathing.
Thirdly, medical attention is necessary, even if the person
seems to have recovered.
Reducing The Risk of a Lightning Strike
Many, if not most, lightning casualties are avoidable. The small
but real risks can be minimised by making a few small sacrifices
to your present enjoyment. The peace of mind you gain will make
it worthwhile.
Firstly, move to the safest possible shelter as soon as you are
aware of an approaching storm. Careful observation of the
weather is a good guide, and lightning detectors are definitely
worth considering, particularly if you are responsible for
others such as a children’s sports team or an outdoor work crew.
In most cases, once you can hear thunder you are within the
danger zone, and it’s time to move quickly.
Now I know that almost every time an early move to shelter will
turn out to be unnecessary, and you may not always get a warm
reception for your course of action. But imagine the alternative
if half a dozen kids are injured or worse after a lightning
strike during a soccer or baseball game.
The best shelter is a fully enclosed building, bearing in mind
the easily avoidable risks associated with telephones, electric
appliances and plumbing.
Next best is an all metal car with the windows closed -
preferably not parked at the top of a hill or under a tall tree.
Probably the third choice would be in a group of small trees -
assuming there are taller ones around. Tall trees are high risk,
as are isolated structures such as water tanks. Partly open
sheds are of dubious value and offer their occupants little
protection if struck.
Open spaces are dangerous places to be, and you should have
plenty of time to move elsewhere. Being the highest point in a
large area is not a good survival strategy.
If however you have no alternative, look for a lower area that
is not water logged, squat down on the balls of your feet, with
your head down. Don’t lie on the ground, and stay away from wire
fences.
And once you are safe, just sit back and enjoy the show.

If you drink a lot of coffee, you probably have quite a few metal coffee cans on hand. With just a little effort, you can make a useful and pretty handmade gift for your friends and family.
First, wash out your can and peel off any labels. Next, apply a coat of metal primer to your can. Let the primer dry thoroughly. Then, apply a coat of bright acrylic paint to the can.
Once your can is painted, you can decorate it. I like to apply crackle medium and then add a top coat of color. This effect is beautiful if you paint a deep blue undercoat and a rich red overcoat on your can.
You may want to rubberstamp bugs or garden tools onto the can instead. To do this, use stamps that are flexible so that you can stamp onto the curved surface of the can. You can apply a light coat of acrylic paint to the stamp and then press the stamp onto the can, carefully rolling the stamp so that the whole image is stamped onto the can. If you mess up, don’t worry. You can wipe the stamped image off the can and start over.
Another great decorative technique for decorating cans is decoupage. Use empty seed packets with pretty artwork or cut pictures from magazines and decoupage them to the can in an attractive pattern.
Once your can is decorated, apply a coat of sealer to the finished product. If you will use the can outside, you may want to let this coat dry and apply a second coat of sealer.
Now, you are ready to prepare your can for planting. Turn the can upside down. Use a 3 inch nail and a hammer to poke drainage holes in the bottom of the can. Turn your can over and fill it to just an inch below the rim with good potting soil.
Next it is time for you to decide which herbs you will be planting in your can. Chives, basil, oregano, thyme and parsley all are great choices. Of course, you can also put a lovely scented geranium in the can, instead.
As a finishing touch, add a tag with information about caring for the herb and a few great recipes. It is easy to attach the tag with a simple florist pick.
Finally, consider other ideas for your coffee can. For instance, instead of adding potting soil and an herb, add a garden trowel, gardening gloves, a packet of seeds, a box of tea and a package of tea biscuits for do it yourselfers.

Looking for a summer project? How about working on who you are, and what kind of life you really want to live? Here’s some ideas.
1. Focus on the “who”, not the “what”.
If you find that you’ve been stuck in a goal for a while, try restating it in “who” terms instead of what. For example, instead of saying “I want to lose 10 lbs.”, say “I want to be someone who is at a healthier weight for my age.” Instead of “I want to spend time with my kids”, say “I want to be someone who is a devoted parent.” Then ask yourself what actions would be fit with your desire to “be” instead of “get”.
2. Control-ability.
Get clear on what you can really control and what is out of your control. You can’t control world politics, but you can vote. You can’t control terrorism, but you can be prepared in your own home. You can’t control the construction crews on the freeway, but you can control how much time you allot for a trip. Knowing what you can control and exercising that, and letting go of what you can’t, reduces stress related feelings immensely.
3. Be Generous.
You know you haven’t worn that shirt in 2 years. Someone needs that shirt to keep warm on the streets this winter, don’t let it just sit idle in your closet. Live from abundance, not lack. You’ll have other shirts. Share. Feel good about yourself for helping others less fortunate.
4. Give it a home.
The biggest culprit for chronically lost items in the home or office — keys, remote, phone, scissors, batteries — are that they don’t have a home. Just like teenagers, if you know where they are going to be, you don’t have to waste time looking for them!
5. Establish routines.
While they sound boring and confining, routines are actually freeing. Instead of being worried and anxious on Monday morning wondering if your credit-card bill is late again, you’ll feel calm knowing that you always pay bills on Wed. evening, so you have nothing to be concerned about. Routines take the stress out!
6. Analyze it.
Did you know that a full 80% of your problems come from 20% of your life? It’s true! Determine what that 20% is that’s affecting so much of your life, and start working to make it more efficient and orderly.
7. Consolidate.
Consolidate means to “merge, combine, unite, join”. Look for something in your life that is scattered and consolidate — group of small bills, hand lotions, hobby supplies. I’m using consolidate in this case to mean either to literally combine as all into one container, but also in collecting like items together. Instead of spreading your collectibles all over the house, combine them into one beautiful cabinet for impact. Consolidate toys or reading material/bills/papers by type. You’ll be able to see the duplicates easily and free up some time and space.
8. Do the opposite.
If you find that you’re constantly having to run to the next room to retrieve a pair of (for example) scissors, that’s a clue that you need to *add* a pair where you need them. This is the opposite of consolidate. Just be careful with this one, and make sure that you really use the item enough to make it worthy of taking up the valuable real-estate in your home or office or closet.
9. Predictability
We can’t know the future. No one can. But about everyday things, it’s usually pretty easy to make a fairly accurate prediction of what consequences of your actions will be. A first ‘mistake’ is simply a learning experience, finding out information that you didn’t have originally. A second ‘mistake’ is not exercising your skill of predicting. Practice predicting, and make informed choices to go in a direction you want to.
10. Assign Value.
A big mistake I see in my coaching clients is not assigning a true value to your time, to your energy, to your money, and to the “real estate” (space) of your home or office. Realize that for each thing you say Yes to — from a pair of shoes to watching a movie — you have said No to something else. Always ask yourself - is this *valuable* enough to me to bump something else from my closet, my schedule, my money?

Have you ever noticed how many warning labels are on things? As a child I always especially noticed the tag on the hair dryer because it addressed me directly: “Warn children of the risk of death by electrocution”. These warning labels are placed on products to protect the company from lawsuits from people who injure themselves with products, because the label warns consumers about potential risks or dangerous applications of the product. Many of the labels seem ridiculous with warnings such as “do not ingest” or “do not place near open flame”, but if the warnings were missing and you hurt yourself, you could sue the company for marketing a defective product!
The 1994 Safety Regulations on general product safety apply to both new and second-hand consumer products. Among the hundreds of products included are clothing, medicines, agricultural and horticultural products, DIY tools, food and drink, household goods, nursery goods, chemicals and pesticides, and motor vehicles. These rules require all suppliers of these goods to supply products that are safe when used in both normal and unusual-but-predictable applications. Taking into account all circumstances, if a product does not provide a reasonable level of safety it is considered a defective product.
A product that merely doesn’t work, but also does not hurt anybody, does not qualify as defective. You can return such a product to the manufacturer or pursue action under law of contract, but without being dangerous this broken product does not qualify for a defective product lawsuit. Other circumstances, like the warning labels, are also relevant to determining whether a product is defective or not. If there is a label warning you of electrocution, you can reasonably expect to be electrocuted if you misuse the product.
Despite the large number of warning labels out there, there are still a good number of products that either a) do not warn consumers of reasonable risks or b) suffer from potentially dangerous manufacturing flaws. Sometimes the company knows their product is dangerous and defective and sometimes they are unaware of the risks, but either way defective products place your life at risk. If you or your loved ones have been injured by a product, seek legal council to determine if the product was defective. Suing a company for a defective product can both resolve the pain you have experience and protect other consumers from dangerous products. GA

The idea of body jewelry has come a long way since the post modern preference for ear piercing on women. Today’s generation, believe it or not, much like ancient societies throughout history, have gone to the more extreme multiple piercing of various body parts.
If you ask around, you’ll get a lot of different opinions about body piercing, both pro and con. Many people use piercings to help express who they are and what they’re about, completely endorsing this type of adornment and what they endorse. However, you’ll also get people who are completely against body piercings and couldn’t imagine who in their right mind would allow something to be permanently placed through their skin. Although both sides seem to have valid points, the reality is that many of the piercing holes will close up as long as they’re not made too large.
Body piercing, the process of puncturing your skin in various locations and placing a metal jewelry adornment through the hole is a very ancient statement. Even today, many indigenous cultures practice body piercings for both adornment and as a status symbol. Though there has been a recent resurgence in native and tribal body piercings, most modern body piercings are done as purely a form of adornment.
So, should you get a body piercing? The answer varies greatly from person to person, but regardless of who you are there are a few things to consider. Answering these questions honestly and openly will help you realize whether or not body piercing is right for you. Are you particularly attached to a certain image that means something to you, or do you want to get a body piercing merely for the sake of getting a body piercing? Most people who are satisfied with their body piercings years on down the road are happy because they have made this decision not because of peer pressure but is something meaningful to them personally. Can you see yourself with the same body piercing when your seventy-five years old? It’ll probably still be there.
Since a body piercing is permanent, don’t just waltz into the nearest body piercing parlor, look at the flash in the case, and pick out something you like. Though this can be a good technique for getting ideas, there’s no rush to get it done immediately.
One final thought about body piercing is that it can cause some unexpected side effects. Do you think it will matter to your future significant other that you’ve pierced a certain part of your body? Understand that this decision “may” limit your choice of partners at least a little.
Next up on the unintended consequences list is that body piercing can dull the senses of the pierced body part. This may not be important today be understand that the decision is long term — lifetime — and losing sensitivity in private areas can be something that might be missed later in life.
Lastly, there’s the issue of loose stools. That’s right, we’re talking about leakage. A couple of piercings usually are not a problem but if you tend to go all out and get quite a few, the risk of anal leakage goes up with each piercing. The reason is that the metal from the piercings tend to leach into your body and increase the level of certain heavy metals. Nickel is especially prone to this effect and can cause leaking anal problems
Although the problems are something to consider, if the desire to have piercings for the right reasons continues to interest you, then take a deep breath and go for it.
If you have an image that you’re attached to, decide where you want it on your body. Most people who get body piercing ed, even those with large body piercings covering their arms, legs, or back, will avoid getting body piercings on their hands, neck, or face, due to the fact that many employers frown on body piercing and because body piercings which are always visible can make it tougher to get hired at certain jobs. Think of how visible you want your body piercing to be; should it be seen when you’re wearing short sleeves? What about shorts?
Finally, make sure you get body piercing ed at a respectable body piercing parlor. All of the needles should be sterile, as should the general working conditions. Be picky about your artist as well, view his or her portfolio and see a sketch of your design before getting inked, since you should be 100% happy with your body piercing.
Abigail Franks writes on a variety of subjects that affect families today. With several teenagers the subject of body Jewelry has come up so look here for more information. www.bodyjewelry.vitalsource.org

In its essentials, Selling is a craft, more than an art and, is based on sound principles. Understand and apply those principles diligently and, more often than not you will succeed in finding a buyer, offline or online.
1. Maintain a List. This list is populated by people who have evinced some interest in your wares at some time. Organise the list in the following order of precedence.
a. Hot prospects, people who you know are very interested and are just waiting for that final nudge from you, to convert from prospect to customer.
b. Medium prospects, people who you know are reasonably interested in your wares but will take a lot of working on to develop into clients.
c. Likely prospects, people who are but mildly interested and will need a huge amount of convincing to cross the line.
It should be evident from the above classification, where your energies are better spent.
2. Keep yourself up to date with the complete details of your product, its advantages and, disadvantages as well. A salesman anticipates and meets a need in the market. A prospective customer may either not be aware of your product or, may only be vaguely aware. It is to your benefit if you are able to match the customer’s perceived need to your product. Give him the unique privilege of learning from you about how your product could help in making his life easier and he will always come back to you.
3. Be curious. Once you are able to interact with a prospect, ask a lot of questions, of course, as unobtrusively as possible. Engage the prospect in a conversation, gently advance the usefulness of your product and elicit the prospect’s response to the stated benefits. See if you can understand the prospect’s mindset and any objections he may have to the product as presented. This will enable you to recast your approach as well as improve and modify the product if enough feedback warrants it.
4. Close the Sale. You generally know when the prospect has been brought round to the stage of buying the product or service. Still, he needs that final push, nudge to complete the sale. Do not hesitate to ask for the order. This can be accomplished by simply asking him his preferred mode of payment and giving him the available options. Once you have brought him round to see the benefits of the product and offered him a suitable payment option well, the sale is in the bag alright.
