For years owning your own swimming pool was beyond the wildest dreams of most people, now however with the advent of PVC pools and advancements in mass manufacturing processes, owning your own pool is well within the reach of almost any UK resident, providing your garden will accommodate it of course!
These above-ground pools are still referred to by many as paddling pools, although by true definition they are indeed swimming pools.
These pools are offered in a range of sizes, usually starting with a diameter of 8ft right upto 20ft monsters, a far cry from traditional paddling pools, i’m sure you agree! Currently these PVC pools are available in round, oval, rectangle and square shapes. The alternative to a 100% PVC pool is a metal framed pool, these pools are perhaps marginally slightly more hard wearing compared to the ‘quick up’ inflatable PVC pools, although the inflatable pools in my opinion look marginally more stylish.
Not only do above ground pools offer a significant monetary saving over tradition ‘in-ground’ pools, they also have the advantage of being able to be moved around the garden, or even when you move house, you could even pack the pool away if you need some more space or want to hibernate the pool for the winter.
