You go to school and make lots of friends. There you find some students whom you really admire, the reason can be many. May be the students are very good in their studies, may be because they are good in basket ball game, they may be too good in their communication skills or may be having the best personality in the school. These students make you feel jealous be all teachers praise them for their performance and everyone just loves to be with them.
In the graduation ceremony also your eyes are on them as to what they are wearing and how they are looking. Though your parents have given you the best high school graduation cap and gown, still you like their high school graduation gown and look with awe on their high school graduation cap. My friend, the problem is not with those students who look great to you, the problem is totally yours.
You are either lacking self confident or you are seriously lacking those qualities of a famous an intelligent student. But this is not the end. In life you will meet many good people having great qualities in them. It is not proper that you just feel jealous and curse yourself for not been like them. Take the final step and promise yourself that from now onwards you will never curse yourself. You should thank God and parents for what you are. After the high school is over and you have some weeks of free time, plan and follow your dream.
• Go to a counselor and discuss your problem. She will guide you nicely and tell you what course to follow or what activities to do.
• Visit a nearby club and enquire about the different exercise they will make you do. Tell them what your plan is, whether you want to gain weight or lose some fat or whether you want that toned muscles. They will give you a plan which you can follow which you can use.
• If you want to improve your communication skill so that you can impress the one in front of you go and join communicative English class. Attend the class seriously with full attention so that after the completion of the course, you are a man of verbal power.
• Another perfect place can be a personality development class where you can develop your personality and appear bold and strong among others. Your personality shows your potential. Never let anyone think that you are a man of low capabilities.
• Today everything depends on your face value. The first impression is the last impression. So, whenever you are going out in public see that you are well dressed and presentable. From hair to toe, perfectly at the place. Give a new look to yourself by going through a make over
• Last but not the least, read good books and motivational books. They will give you knowledge and give you the confidence to discuss matters in public.
And see, you are ready to take the world in your stride.

As you know, school house teachers prepare for their career path through many hours of course work, methodology classes, and student teaching before they begin teaching school. So how in the world could a parent without such training and preparations expect to be able to successfully home school their children?
As someone who has accomplished both, I can tell you that home schooling is quite a different job than classroom teaching. For instance, a classroom teacher is tasked with the rather prodigious challenge of conveying specific skills to a large group of kids with many different learning abilities and learning styles and certainly they come from different backgrounds. I can tell you, as a teacher, the temperament toward learning in which the child is exposed to at home is a huge influencing factor when it comes to the child’s performance at school. Whether a child comes from a home environment that embraces and nurtures learning or not makes teaching a large group of students an even more challenging task. Then there are those discipline issues that inevitably come. When this occurs, the schoolteacher is bound to follow rules, regulations, and policies. And may or may not have the support of the parents in correcting the behavior.
Disciplinary action is a whole different arena when you are a homeschooling parent. This is a natural duty for you as a parent and as such you can incorporate the rules and policies that not only work best for your homeschool but for your family as well.
As a homeschooling parent, you are in control of the home environment of student(s)! And homeschoolers certainly don’t have to teach, motivate, and reach out to an entire room full of children at one time. We only have to motivate and manage one (or several) children, and even then (if you’re creative with your scheduling and planning) it doesn’t have to be all at the same time. As parents, homeschoolers are driven by the highest of motivators… the love for their children and the desire for them to be successful.
When it comes to the curriculum, schoolteachers are largely bound by a prescribed program and schedule. In the traditional classroom, because of scheduling and time constraints (along with everything else) a teacher must instruct as efficiently as possible. Too much time on one unit will probably mean cuts being made in others. One of the biggest challenges schoolteachers face with the larger class sizes is finding teaching pace that will not out run the slower student yet deliver to the higher learners subject matter that challenges them as well. Unfortunately, the answer is usually a compromise that neither works for the slower or the faster students.
As a homeschooling parent you don’t have to work within the time constraints or the class sizes. And you certainly won’t get called into the office because you spent too much time on one subject either because your child really took to it and you wanted to dig deeper, or your child struggled to understand some of the concepts and you wanted to review, test and teach some more before you moved on. As a whole the homeschooling parent can work with and help their children fully learn something without having to worry about any myriad of issues that schoolteachers face.
It’s been documented that one on one instruction facilitates learning at a much greater pace than can be done in a one to many environment. The homeschooling parent has the flexibility to adjust the schedule as learning dictates. You’ll find that because this teaching model is so much more efficient than classroom learning, that you’ll be able to dig deeper and stay longer within subjects and still have plenty of time on your homeschool yearly calendar.
Preparation is always a good thing and with today’s technologies it’s much easier. Get out there and read books, find some good online homeschooling forums that you like and jump in. You’ll soon get a feel for how those ahead of you on the path have approached the very same questions that you have. Be prepared for some sanding and buffing of your schedule and your plans until you find what works best for you, your child(ren) and your family.
Do you have educational training and pedigrees that schoolteachers have? Probably not; but as you now know, in the case of homeschooling you don’t need many of them.
So, homeschooling… can you really do this? I think you’ll find that with the availability of so many resources today, combined with your enthusiasm for your child’s success and the love of being their parent that… yes you can do this.

With the wellspring of cultural knowledge available to educate African American children about our rich heritage a solid anchor for all of this information is Kwanzaa. Unless you know where you come from, you can never arrive at where you should be going (huge paraphrase). Let’s look at this quote…
Kwanzaa was created to introduce and reinforce seven basic values of African culture which contribute to building and reinforcing family, community and culture among African American people as well as Africans throughout the world African community. These values are called the Nguzo Saba which in Swahili means the Seven Principles. Developed by Dr. Karenga, the Nguzo Saba stand at the heart of the origin and meaning of Kwanzaa, for it is these values which are not only the building blocks for community but also serve to reinforce and enhance them.
…from the Official Kwanzaa Web Site - http://www.officialkwanzaawebsite.org/7principles.html
After learning American history, World history, the history of art, music, writing and the like - African American history is a must and I will touch on a way to add Kwanzaa to your curriculum.
First let’s start with the little ones - the simplest way that we use is with coloring pictures. Give them examples of of the seven symbols of Kwanzaa which you can find online and let them color them as they desire. Remember to write the names of each symbol and tell them the meaning of each one. As they get older they will begin to recall the meaning of the symbols and ask questions about each one. Parents prepare ahead of time to answer their questions about Kwanzaa as they will ask about each one and it will probably be at a time when you are not at your computer or near a Kwanzaa calendar to remember. Our children need good principles to guide them thru life and this is an invaluable way to instill them.
For those a little more mature in age get them to make a Kwanzaa calendar to place in their room, with the symbols, their names and meaning. As an added way to remember Kwanzaa we discuss each separate symbol, name and meaning each month leading up to Kwanzaa - giving you extra material to which subjects like history, culture, languages, writing and composition can be budded from throughout the year.
Starting at those at the ages of 16 and up we let them choose a principle and go online to research examples of each Kwanzaa symbol being applied in the past, present and produce an example that can be used in the future. The future application of their respective Kwanzaa symbol can be next year or five years from now and triggers their use of critical thinking - something that young leaders need to practice in order to be part of building family, community and culture.
A more in-depth lesson plan that can be used as a homeschooling guide to Kwanzaa can be found at the Learning to Give website: http://www.learningtogive.org/lessons/unit158/overview.html. Each age group has a different activity planned for celebrating Kwanzaa in a more structured format.
Because of the richness of Kwanzaa and the principles that it points to as a reinforcement for community, family and culture it’s values should be rehearsed year-round just as Christmas in July and other holidays are touched upon out of season. We have the future of our nation’s principles in our hands let’s not forget to remind each other to keep those principles.

I have been writing blogs about my home schooling experience. I also have been searching the web for other home schooling experiences. There are many ways to home school. The most important thing to remember is that it is your personal choice. Whether you home school from an online source, video classroom, workbooks or oral teaching from a book, is totally up to you.
Remember that there is a lot of help in your community. People who also home school, usually have a group, where the children can interact together at functions. If you do not like that idea, then you can go for help on a home school website. There are many places to go.
I have found that your ideas for your own children are the best. You know your children better than anyone else. You know their limits, what subjects they like the best, and their individual personalities.
When you start home schooling try different ways of teaching. Let your children, if they are older like mine, add some of their ideas. It really gets them interested in what they are doing.
Remember to keep it organized. This is important. If it is unstructured then it will not work. Children need structure. Teaching them organization will help them in their own adult lives.
Try to add classes, other than the norm, to the schedule. I mean like, photography, band, cooking, etc. This gives the kids something different to look forward to. Have fun and enjoy the day.
I also found a lot of helpful websites, not only for me, but for my children to use too. I am sure there are many more, but here are the ones we use;

Although homeschooling has become increasingly popular in recent years, there’s still a lot of confusion and misunderstanding that surround it. As a result, many parents have questions about exactly what homeschooling is and how it is conducted, and this article will help answer some of the most common questions that are asked about homeschooling.
1. What is homeschooling?
Homeschooling is a process where parents take charge of the education of their own children, completely substituting the educational curriculum used by public and private schools. The reasons for choosing homeschooling as a substitute can be many including having better control over the content of their children’s education, being able to better match the speed and pace of learning to each child’s ability, better promotion of the parent-child bond as their children grow older, and concerns over their children’s safety in the public school system.
2. What kind of people homeschool their children?
The answer to that question is that people from all walks of life with varied abilities, backgrounds, and circumstances all have been successful in homeschooling their children. This means that it doesn’t matter whether you live in a city or on a farm, whether you only have one child or ten, whether it’s a single or two-parent family, whether you are religious or not, there are those who have similar circumstances that are successfully homeschooling their children.
3. Is homeschooling legal?
Yes, homeschooling is legal in every state in the US, although there are laws regulating homeschooling that can vary significantly from one state to the next, so before you decide to homeschool your children, be sure to check on the requirements for homeschooling in the state where you live first.
4. What educational requirements are there for parents to homeschool their children?
In most cases, all that is required is that you be able to read, write, and perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. You can always upgrade your own education as you go if more is needed. But be sure to check on the particular requirements of the state where you live before you begin.
5. Where can we find homeschooling books and curriculums?
There are actually lots of places to get the home school materials that you will need including books, worksheets, and so forth. The internet is a great place to find the materials you will need at the lowest cost possible. You can even find used homeschool books and materials online at eBay and Amazon. You also may be able to find some of these materials locally at small bookstores and garage sales.
Whether or not to homeschool your children is a decision that is not to be taken lightly, and hopefully some of the answers we have provided here in this article to the most commonly asked homeschooling questions will help you be able to determine if homeschooling is right for you and your children.
Steadman Issenburg writes on many consumer related topics including education. You can find homeschool worksheets and used homeschool books and more by visiting our education website.
